Traditional BPS Middle Schools

Middle schools serve students in grades 6 to 8. However, some of the elementary schools run K to 8 -- that is, they are combined elementary and middle schools in the same building. This is becoming more popular with Boston parents, as that way they know the teachers and principal quite well for up to 9 years.

There are 33 middle schools in BPS (the Pilot Middle Schools can be found under the "pilot public schools" tab).
